THIS GUY IS HUNGRY!!!

I’ll never forgot this moment. We are carrying the cross down a busy street in Dallas and this guy in the picture just comes running down the street towards us. And I mean running. He had his shoes off so that he could run faster! Immediately it reminded me of Peter seeing Jesus on the shore and jumping out of the boat and swimming to reach Jesus just to be with him. Just seeing this guy running towards us like this would have completed this day. It was such a special moment. He was so hungry. He wanted to carry the cross. While he carried it, he just told us his life story, his struggles, and his heart to grow closer to God. So beautiful! He carried it with us for three hours and talked to people with us. I really just have to stop and thank God for this beautiful picture of hunger that I long to see everyday in people.

Along with asking myself this question, I feel like I am supposed to ask you this question. Do you have this hunger? Take some time and think about that. If you answered no, then know this. It is right there for the taking. It is not far from you. Please here this. This life with Jesus, your purpose in life, is supposed to be filled with this hunger, amazing fulfillment, and a purpose that involves great adventure. You cannot read the Bible and not get this. If you do not get this out of the Bible, then go back to it and read it again and again. Read the entire New Testament over and over until you get it. You can have this life. My prayer for all of you is that He opens your eyes to the “hunger life.” You can have this life with Jesus and you can be a disciple maker just like he called all of us to be in Matthew 28. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I commanded you, and surely I am with you always.”

I love it! and he is so young, too. Please pray for my grandchildren. They loved the Lord when they were little, but in their 20,s they have drifted. The oldest 1 was told by his XXXX stepdad that God did not like him, was angry at him and would never have a thing to do with him. So now we can’t even talk to him about the Lord. Heartbreaking.
